A string of bombings in Iraq left at least 56 people dead and 101 others wounded on Friday, one of the deadliest days in a long while in the country.
Forty-six people were killed when two powerful blasts hit Baqouba. The first one targeted worshippers after Friday prayers and the second one struck soon after people gathered to help the wounded.
Elsewhere in the country, a roadside bomb killed 8 people and wounded 24 people in the province of Al-Medain, south of Baghdad.
In Fallujah, 2 people were killed and 10 people were wounded in bomb attack on a coffeehouse and seven people were killed in a funeral ceremony of the brother of an Iraqi lawmaker.
