In order to get information for the air strikes and the land operations, a group of personnel from the Academy (formerly known as Blackwater) have joined to the Syrian Kurdish political group PYD's armed wing, the YPG, which is fighting ISIL in Kobani, according to the western reporters.

Before the U.S. occupation in Iraq, in 2003, these teams were used to get intelligence info, for preparing particularly land operations, about the circumstances in where Kobani located now. A teams of the Blacwater found by the retired American soldiers is in Kobani now. 

Blackwater, known its inhuman killings, changed the name into Academia in 2011 during an updating process. 

With clashes in Kobani, a team of Academy joined to PYD groups in order to get intelligence info for air and land operations across the region. Arms aid through the region delivered the teams of Academy during the clashes have continued for five weeks, according to the claims reported.
