Series of bomb attacks rock Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Thursday, killing at least 45 people and wounding 125 others.

45 people were killed and 125 others were wounded when bomb-laden vehicles were detonated in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.

Three attacks took place in Husseiniya region in northern Baghdad, killing 11 people and injuring 32 others.

The other attacks were carried out in New Baghdad, in Dora region in southern Baghdad and in Kazimiyah in northern Baghdad.

34 people died and 93 others were wounded in the attacks.

No group claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Violence in the country has reached its highest level since 2008, with a surge in sectarian attacks.
