Within the past two days, Iraqi police have found the bodies of at least 43 men in the Baghdad province and the northern Saladin province, a security source said Friday.
The bodies of 23 people – seven of which had been decapitated – were found on Friday in the two provinces, the source said.
One day earlier, 20 bodies had been found in the capital.
According to the official, 16 bodies – including one that belonged to a military officer – had been found in a public park in the town of Tarmiyah north of Baghdad.
The victims had been kidnapped hours earlier by men in army uniforms. The bodies were riddled with bullets in the chest and abdomen.
In the Saladin province, meanwhile, police found seven decapitated bodies in several areas of northern Tikrit.
A security source said the bodies were those of construction workers employed by an Italian company contracted to build a stadium in the city.
No individuals or groups have claimed responsibility for the slayings.Last Mod: 30 Kasım 2013, 13:51
