Four people died and eight were wounded in shelling in Fallujah carried out by the Iraqi army, tribal sources on Friday said.

Iraqi officials have not made any statement yet.

Armed tribal groups said they hit four military headquarters in the city with four rockets.

Rafi Abdulkerim, the leader of Albu Fahd tribe, said operations against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) are continuing in Ramadi.

Clashes have been going on in the cities of Fallujah and Ramadi for three weeks, which reportedly claimed over 100 lives so far.

The predominantly Sunni Anbar province has been rocked by violence since security forces dismantled a month-old anti-government sit-in outside the city in late December.
