ISIL executed 22 civilians, including a woman, on Tuesday in its stronghold of Mosul, the Iraqi Ministry of Human Rights said in a statement.
Eyewitnesses said the victims were among 130 civilians Daesh (the Arabic acronym for ISIL) had abducted for allegedly cooperating with the Iraqi security authorities.
Last summer, ISIL captured large swathes of land in Iraq and Syria, killing thousands in the process. The terrorist group later declared the captured territories to be part of a self-styled caliphate.
Since the group captured the northern Iraqi city of Mosul in June 2014, a U.S.-led coalition has carried out numerous airstrikes against Daesh targets in both Iraq and Syria.Last Mod: 03 Mart 2015, 14:55
