A blast hit the Kirkuk-Yumurtalık oil pipeline between Iraq and Turkey’s Mediterranean coast near southern Mosul, halting oil flow.
Ahmad Ziyad, an official from Iraq's Oil Ministy, told the Anadolu Agency attackers staged an assault on the pipeline in al-Jahesh village in southern Mosul.
"The pipeline was damaged and the oil supply was temporarily disrupted due to the explosion," said Ziyad. "It will take at least one day to repair it. However this will not badly effect the production of 670 thousands barrels of oil. Produced oil will be stored and pumped again after it has been fixed."
Some 37 attacks have targeted The Kirkuk-Yumurtalık oil pipeline in 2013, according to the figures of the North Oil Company in Kirkuk.Last Mod: 13 Ağustos 2013, 15:23
