A roadside bomb blast killed two Iraqi troops in western Iraq on Wednesday, according to a military officer.
The explosion struck as a military vehicle was passing on a highway in western Ramadi, the provincial capital of Anbar province, army colonel Walid al-Duleimi told Anadolu Agency.
Two soldiers were also injured in the attack, he said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blast, though Iraqi authorities often blame the ISIL extremist group for similar attacks.
ISIL has overrun vast swathes of territory in northern and western Iraq in 2014.
In late October, the Iraqi army launched a major offensive to recapture Mosul, once Iraq’s second largest city in terms of population, from the extremist group.
