At least three people were killed in a roadside bomb attack Saturday in eastern Iraq, according to a local police officer.
The bomb exploded as a car carrying six people was passing in al-Dayania in eastern Diyala province, police captain Habib al-Shemari told Anadolu Agency.
A police officer was among those killed in the attack, which also left three people injured, he said.
There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.
Saturday’s attack comes amid an ongoing Iraqi offensive to dislodge ISIL militants from the northern city of Mosul.
ISIL has overrun Mosul and vast swathes of territory in northern and western Iraq in 2014.
