Attacks across Iraq killed 979 people in October, the United Nations said Friday.
In a monthly report the UN said the death toll included 852 civilians and 127 members of security forces or the police were killed in October in attacks and violence across the country with 1,793 wounded.
Baghdad was affected the most from violence with 411 killed and 925 wounded.
