The son of Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie has been shot dead in Cairo, a human rights activist told Anadolu Agency.
Ammar, 37, was shot twice in the head and eye during his participation in Friday's protests in Cairo, activist Hasan Karim said.
His body now lays in the Ghamra military hospital in Cairo.
The grandson of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hasan al-Banna was killed in protests in the Egyptian capital on Friday, a relative told Anadolu Agency on Saturday.
"Khaled Fernas Abdel-Basit was martyred during his participation in the Ramses protests on Friday," Ahmed Seif al-Islam, the son of the Muslim Brotherhood founder, said.
He said that the body of Al-Banna's grandson was moved to Al-Tawheed Mosque in Ramses Square before the burial.
More than 181 people were killed Friday in mass protests staged by supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi in several Egyptian cities. More than half of the fatalities occurred in Cairo's Ramses Square.
The Muslim Brotherhood has accused Egyptian authorities of committing "systematic killings" of peaceful protesters in the Ramses Square.
"Crimes are being committed now in Ramses Square. Peaceful protesters are being killed, and even after that their bodies continue to be fired at," Brotherhood spokesman Ahmed Aref told the Anadolu Agency.Last Mod: 18 Ağustos 2013, 10:21
