According to the web site "Vijesti ummeta“ (News for Muslims), close to the Salafist movement in the Balkans, a volunteer fighter who fought alongside the opposition has been killed in Syria.
Emedin Velic (Musena) from Sarajevo was killed in clashes between regime forces and the opposition, according to the web site.
"Our brother was killed in a horrifying battle,“ the news claims, adding that one other person from Bosnia was wounded on the same day.
The report is accompanied with a photo from Syria showing Velic along side Bajro Ikanovic, who was sentenced for terrorism in Bosnia in 2007.
The news about Velic came nine days after the reports on the death of Dervis Halilovic Omar from Zenica in Syria.
According to Admir Malagic from the Ministry of Security in Bosnia and Herzegovina, intelligence information shows that about 60 people from Bosnia are fighting in Syria. However, some sources claim the number is much higher.
"These people are members of the Salafi movement in Bosnia,“ Malagic told AA.
According to unofficial data, about 140 people from the Balkans are fighting alongside rebels in Syria but the number could be much higher.
