Turkish NGO IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation hosted 9 orphans from 4 countries in Turkey's western province of Bursa for two days as part of its campaign, "Open Up a Place for Orphans in Your World."

Orphans from Albania, Macedonia, Georgia and Kirkuk were hosted over the weekend. On the first day, they visited Bursa Deputy Governor Mustafa Guney and the Metropolitan Municipality.

They had been to Science and Technology Museum as well as to Bursa's historical Grand Mosque. The orphans were presented with new clothes at a store and had dinner at their sponsor families' houses.

On the second day, they went to the Space House, the Botanic Park and saw the city's landmark historical plane tree. They also attended an event organized for them before proceeding to Istanbul to leave for their countries.

IHH official Huseyin Kaptan said the orphans had a good time and fun over the weekend. He said Turkish people were very sensitive about orphans and 200 families became sponsors for other orphans in the event organized for the guest children.

He said there were about 200 million orphans worldwide and they had to work harder to extend a helping hand to them.

The campaign started on February 1 to put the orphans in various countries to raise awareness to provide them more help, and it will continue until the end of March.
