Rohingya may face another wave of genocide

World Bulletin / News Desk

Myanmar's military backed regime, led by former high rank military officer president Thein Sein, is busy in preparation to get rid of the Rohingya Muslims within a short time before the completion of Myanmar 2014 census that will be carried out from March 30 to April 10, reported the Burma Times.

The article by Ibrahim Shah has claimed that another wave of genocide against the Rohingya Muslims was about to be triggered in western Myanmar.

There is a standing order from the central government's Naypyidaw administration to round up all Rohingya males and boys aged 10 and above.

At least 237 people have been killed in violence across Myanmar since June 2012, which has also displaced more than 140,000 people.

Most of the victims were Rohingya Muslims and the most deadly incidents happened in Rakhine state, where about one million Rohingya live under apartheid-like conditions, denied citizenship with their movements tightly restricted and with little access to health care, jobs or education.

Does anyone else just love how genocides tend to be completely ignored while they are taking place, and how once they are over we as an international community will attempt to evade our culpability by behaving as though we would never let such atrocities occur, when we as the human race just did.

No body can firmly say how many Rohingyas were killed since the start of outbreak in June 2012. There may 20, 000, or 30,000 or 100 thousands. That is why an independent investigation team is very essential to find out the exact number of Rohingyas killed by the Rakhine and army personnel.
