Turkey sent five ambulances to Saudi Arabia to give health services to Turkish pilgrims, the General Directorate of Religious Affairs said on Thursday.

A directorate statement said the ambulances were expected to arrive in Madinah on September 23.

"580 health personnel will serve in Mecca and Madinah hospitals to help Turkish pilgrims if they face any health problems," the statement said.

The statement also said ten more ambulances would be sent to Saudi Arabia.
