Magnitude 6.2 quake hits Ecuador

An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.2 hit Ecuador on early Friday.

The United States Geological Survey, or USGS, recorded the temblor at occurring 17 kilometers (11 miles) south-southwest of Alausi town in Chimborazo province at a depth of 93.5 kilometers (58 miles) at 0212 GMT.

No casualties or damages have yet been reported.
