HE IS A CHILD
13-year-old Dogan Teyboga was selling ice-cream when some people gave him some stones on July 24. He was pushed to the front in a demonstration in Silopi town. When a gas bomb hurled by police hit on his head, he fell down and he died at hospital. He was laid to rest with a coffin covered by a yellow-red-green flag. Those who pushed Dogan on the front during the demonstration opened banners writing "martyr" during his funeral. For those who threw the gas bomb, he was a "demonstrator." However, the facts were different. His family migrated to Silopi when their village was demolished. His mother was a worker in eastern province of Van and his father was a driver in north of Iraq. He was a child who was earning their life with his six-year-old sibling by selling ice-creams.
