SARKOZY TO INFORM ERDOGAN ON ELIMINATION REPORT
Europe has waged a war against the PKK terrorist organization. President Nicolas Sarkozy of France will host Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Paris on April 6. During the meeting, he will inform Erdogan on France's plans to eliminate the PKK. The two leaders will also discuss joint fight against terrorism.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized members of the supreme courts which called on people to reject the constitutional amendment package. CONSTITUTIONAL REFORM NOT TO CAUSE CRISIS, BUT CAN STRENGTHEN DEMOCRACY
Majority of the business world welcomed the government's constitutional amendment package. Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON), Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD), Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD) and Association of Anatolian Businessmen (ASKON), which were visited by Justice and Development (AK) Party's legist members, all agreed that Turkey needed a new constitution.
TUSKON's head Rizanur Meral said that the constitutional amendment would not cause a crisis in Turkey, but on the contrary, it would improve the standard of democracy and effect employment positively.
WE WILL SUPPORT CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT PACKAGE AT REFERENDUM
Chairperson of Felicity Party (SP) Numan Kurtulus said that his party supported constitutional amendment activities. Kurtulus said SP was pleased as some of its proposals to the government were also included in the package. Speaking to Zaman daily, Kurtulus said the government's 29-article bill had right and positive elements, as well as some lacking points.

Addressing members of high jurisdiction who said "constitutional amendments should not be supported", Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "You have already revealed yourselves. If you like it that much, you can take off your gowns and come to the political arena".

Sending messages to Republican People's Party (CHP), Arinc also said, "it is insane to prevent the referendum process or to think that the issue could be solved thanks to the 11 members of the Constitutional Court if the nation says 'yes' to the process".

LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST HABUR TEAM
A lawsuit was filed against 17 out of 34 members of the PKK terrorist organization who entered Turkey from Habur border crossing at a ceremony under the democratic move. Prosecutors demanded 7.5 years in prison for each of them after they propagandized for the PKK and talked about Abdullah Ocalan as their "political will".

AMBASSADOR RETURNS TO TURKEY AFTER CRISIS IN ISRAEL
President Abdullah Gul signed the decree about appointments of ambassadors. Under the decree, Turkey's Ambassodor Oguz Celikkol to Israel will return to Ankara. Earlier this year, ties strained between Turkey and Israel after Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon's ill-treatment of Turkish Ambassador in Tel Aviv. Ayalon had Celikkol sit at a lower armchair in front of a table with only the Israeli flag on it, denying him an handshake in front of the press.
PAKISTANI NEWSPAPER EULOGIZES TURKEY
Pakistan's leading newspaper expressed its desire in an editorial yesterday, "although tensions still exist between the military, which considers itself to be the guardian of the secular character of the state, and the Justice and Development Party-led political dispensation that came to power through a democratic process, it has not disrupted the smooth functioning of the democratic system. It is a measure of the maturity of Turkey's democratic political system that institutions of the state have been able to overcome their differences without resorting to extra-constitutional means. We hope for a similar future in Pakistan."

Hasan Gerceker, head of the Supreme Court of Appeals, said that (constitutional) amendments would put the jurisdiction into a symbolic position.
Commenting on the allegations that legists were dealing with politics, Gerceker said law and politics could not be separated from each other. Warning that efficiency and presence of high jurisdiction would become "symbolic" with the constitutional amendments, Gerceker said, "People should open their eyes now. Our concerns are about the society's future".
