HUNDREDS OF SHIPS EN ROUTE TO GAZA
Several countries have launched initiatives to send aid to Palestinians. An aid ship "Rachel Corrie" which left Ireland is expected to reach Gaza on Saturday. European charity organizations have started to collect funds for a second flotilla for Gaza. The flotilla is expected to sail to Gaza within a few weeks.

GEN. BASBUG: "FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM WILL CONTINUE"
Chief of General Staff Gen. Ilker Basbug who met with two force commanders in the eastern province of Malatya after a recent escalation in terrorist attacks of PKK in the country. Gen. Basbug said that they discussed measures taken in the fight against terrorism. "Turkish Armed Forces will keep combating terrorism with great determination," Gen. Basbug said.

REMAINIG FIVE WOUNDED TURKISH NATIONALS IN ISRAEL BROUGHT HOME
An ambulance plane brought back home the remaining five wounded Turkish nationals who were hospitalized after a deadly storming of a Gaza-bound aid flotilla. Two of the wounded were in critical condition.

FORENSIC REPORT SAYS ASSASSINATION TEAM LIST HAND WORK OF FORMER SPECIAL OPS HEAD
An official forensic report has said that an alleged list of an assassination team had been drafted by Ibrahim Sahin, former head of the Special Operations, and that the hand writing on the list belonged to him. The list which was dubbed as the S-1 assassination team list was found in the attic of Sahin's house in Istanbul. Sahin is being tried in the court in the Ergenekon case on the charges of plotting to foment chaos in the society and force the military to stage a coup d'etat.

BARZANI URGES BDP TO SUPPORT DEMOCRATIC INITIATIVE
Head of the regional administration in the north of Iraq, Massoud Barzani met with Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) leader Selahattin Demirtas and Ahmet Turk, former chairman of the defunct Democratic Society Party. Barzani called on the BDP and Turk to extend support to Turkish government's democratic drive to expand political and cultural rights and freedoms.

SLAIN TURKISH-ARMENIAN JOURNALIST'S FAMILY LAWYER FOUND DEAD
Hakan Karadag, a lawyer of the family of slain Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink, was found dead in his house in Istanbul. Police found Karadag hanged by the neck to a gas pipe. Karadag has been threatened by Ogun Samast, Dink's murderer, in a court hearing.

BARZANI MEETS BDP EXECUTIVES
Massoud Barzani, leader of the regional administration in the north of Iraq, met with executives of Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) at Swissotel in Ankara. Barzani said that he attached a great importance to the Turkish government's initiative on democratization. Speaking to reporters, BDP Chairman Selahattin Demirtas said, "this is Barzani's view. We say that the initiative process does not express democratization or a sound reform."

ERDOGAN STILL ANGRY
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan addressed the people in the central province of Konya and criticized harshly Israel's deadly raid on aid flotilla for Gaza. Erdogan said Israel was liar and hypocritical, adding that Israel knew very well how to kill. "If you don't understand it in Turkish, I will say it in English: You shall not kill," he said, repeating the commandment in Hebrew.

INTERESTING STATEMENT FROM GULEN
Fethullah Gulen, who is living in Pennsylvania, the United States, criticized aid flotilla for trying to deliver aid to Gaza without Israel's consent. Gulen said organizers' failure to seek accord with Israel before attempting to deliver aid "is a sign of defying authority, and will not lead to fruitful matters." Speaking to the Wall Street Journal, Gulen spoke of watching news coverage of Monday's deadly confrontation between Israeli commandos and aid group members as its flotilla approached Israel's sea blockade of Gaza. "What I saw was not pretty," he said.

DINK'S LAWYER FOUND DEAD
Hakan Karadag, one of lawyers representing the family of the assassinated Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink, was found dead in his apartment in Istanbul on Friday. Karadag was found hanging in his home. The cause of his death will be clear after a forensic examination.

ERDOGAN HARSH ON ISRAEL
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday directed harsh criticisms against Israel, likening the Israeli state to "Somali pirates." "Our issue is with the Israeli administration which conducts state terrorism," he said. Erdogan rejected any comparison between Hamas and the PKK, saying that the latter was an illegal organization operating in Turkey. "PKK members carry Turkish passports. I do not consider Hamas as a terrorist organization. Hamas is protecting its soil. They have won an election but they were not even allowed to remain in power," Erdogan said.

TURKEY OPPOSITION PARTY CRITICIZES GOVERNMENT OVER GAZA FLOTILLA
Turkey's opposition Felicity Party (SP) has put part of the blame on the Turkish government over a deadly storming of a Gaza-bound aid flotilla that killed nine people -- eight of them are Turks. SP's leader Numan Kurtulmus said Turkey has made mistakes both in diplomatic and military terms as it has failed to make an official statement as the flotilla had asked for help in high seas. "The government should have voiced its reaction prior to the raid not after that," Kurtulmuş said. "We have spoken with the organizers of Turkey leg of the aid drive. They told us that they had thought of setting their course for Egypt. It was government's task to make the necessary coordination. The flotilla was left on its own."

POPE: "IT IS A PERSONAL ISSUE"
Pope Benedict XVI said the murder of Vatican's Apostolic Vicar in Anatolia, Bishop Luigi Padovese in Iskenderun could not be attributed to Turkey or its people. Pope said the murder of Padovese was not politically motivated. "The information at hand on the matter is limited. However, I am sure that this incident is not politically or religiously motivated. This is a personal incident. We are waiting it to be clarified," said the Pope.

"What I saw was not pretty," he said. "It was ugly." Gulen said he had only recently heard of IHH, the Islamic charity active in more than 100 countries that was a lead flotilla organizer. "It is not easy to say if they are politicized or not," he said. Gulen said that assigning blame in the matter is best left to the United Nations.

TURKISH COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY PARTIALLY BLOCKS GOOGLE
Turkey's online communications authority has banned certain IPs the search engine giant Google in a bid to block access to Google-owned video sharing website Youtube. Over thirty websites using Google services have begun to experience accessibility problems as users have expressed uneasiness on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter including Turkish President Abdullah Gul, who wrote on Twitter: "I cannot not approve that Turkey is named among countries which ban Youtube or block access to Google. Legal ways must be devised on this issue."

HEAVY DIPLOMATIC TRAFFIC OVER GAZA FLOTILLA PRIOR TO DEADLY ISRAELI RAID
Ankara, Washington and Tel Aviv reportedly engaged in an extensive diplomatic traffic over a Gaza-bound aid flotilla which came under a deadly raid by Israeli commandos. The traffic began as Israel has directly conveyed its determination that it would stop the flotilla from reaching its territorial waters. Ankara's attempts to convince the IHH, the charity that organized the Turkey leg of the aid drive, to change its plans to reach Gaza have failed. U.S. Ambassador James Jeffrey once more has warned Ankara that Israel would not let the flotilla into its territorial waters.
