SHOCK OF CANCELLATION IN ARGENTINA
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan cancelled his visit to Argentina as this country, which recognized allegations on "so-called Armenian genocide", did not open bust of Ataturk because of Diaspora.
Following this stance of Turkey, Argentine media and public started to criticize the government.
Commenting on the cancellation of the visit, newspapers said "scandal", and noted, "we had an opportunity to boost relations. However, the government was defeated by the Armenian lobby, angered Erdogan and spoiled everything."

HAMILTON, ISTANBUL'S NEW KING
There was a great excitement in Turkish Grand Prix, the 7th race of the season in Formula 1.
Contest of Mark Webber and Lewis Hamilton enchanted the audience. It was McLaren's driver Hamilton who first saw the flag. His team mate Button ranked the second and Webber from Red Bull ranked the third.

HAMILTON WINS F1 TURKEY GP
British driver Lewis Hamilton of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes won Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix at Istanbul Park Circuit. McLaren's Jenson Button came the second, and Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber the third in the seventh race of the season.

FAMILIES TO BE OBLIGED TO HAVE CHILD CAR SEAT
Families throughout Turkey will be obliged to have special car seats for their children in their cars as of June 1. A new arrangement will come into force on June 1 under efforts to adjustment to the European Union standards.

Turkey's successful foreign policy began to yield some results. Pakistani Culture & Tourism Minister Shazia Marri said that they launched initiatives to lift visa procedures between Turkey and Pakistan.

WE GREW MORE THAN PREDICTED
Bosses announced their growth predictions of Turkey for 2010 and the future period. Executives of Koc and Sabanci holdings as well as Turkey's Independent Industrialists' & Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD), Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (TUSIAD) and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) said that the growth was over the predictions.

Turkey is shaken with news from soldiers and village guards who were killed in southeastern provinces of Sirnak and Siirt.
There were anger and tears at the funerals of soldiers and village guards in Aegean provinces of Izmir and Denizli.
Terrorist acts have risen following statement of Ocalan that he would withdraw from decision making process starting as of May 31.
32 people from security forces died since the beginning of the year. High level alarm started in cities.

NOISE OF TURKEY TO BE MUTED WITH CIRCULAR
Prime Ministry prepared a circular to abate noise of Turkey. The circular restricts and brings ban on music, horn, and sky rockets in entertainment places that are close to schools, hospitals, houses and nursing houses.

WE EXPECT "COMPENSATION" FROM ARGENTINA
Written permission was given months before for the inauguration of bust of Ataturk in Jorge Newbury park in Buenos Aires.
As Argentina gave up inauguration of the bust at the last moment with the pressure from Armenians, base of the monument was left empty.
Turkish foreign ministry wanted Argentina to keep its promise.
The bust was to open in Buenos Aires to mark 100th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries. The local administration cancelled inauguration of the bust with the pressure from Armenians and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan cancelled his visit to this country.
Foreign ministry relayed a message to Argentina and said, "relations are overshadowed. Compensate it soon."

A public survey carried out by the Metropoll revealed that 22.9 percent of those who have never cast their votes for the Republican People's party (CHP) decided to vote for the CHP after election of Kemal Kilicdaroglu as the new leader of the political party.

PROTEST TO PROTOCOL
There were cries and curses to terrorism during the funeral ceremonies of two soldiers and four village guards who were killed by PKK terrorists in the southeastern provinces of Sirnak and Siirt. People protested governor and protocol during the funeral ceremony in the western province of Denizli. A land mine was detonated while relatives of a killed village guard were going to the funeral ceremony in Siirt.

The truth behind the prevention of Gursel Tekin to join central executive board of Republican People's Party (CHP) is: CHP's second man Onder Sav told CHP Chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu that "pick either Tekin or me". Gursel Tekin, who returned from Ankara to Istanbul, spoke yesterday: our chairman drew a road map for us. We are ready for every duty.

Turkish band Manga, which ranked the second behind Germany at the 55th Eurovision Song Contest, had fun in the farewell party till morning. Group members said, "we are tired but we do not regret any second of the contest. It is a big success to be on the second row as a rock band in a pop-weighted contest."

YOU ARE RIGHT TO REACT
Regarding the cancellation of inauguration of Ataturk bust in Buenos Aires, Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner called Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the phone. Kirchner said, "you are right to react. However, according to Argentine laws, central government cannot intervene in decisions of local authorities."

TELEPHONE CALL TO ERDOGAN REQUESTING HIM TO COME
Repercussions of the big scandal experienced during the visit of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Latin America the other day still continue.
The crisis erupted when the autonomous administration in Buenos Aires cancelled inauguration of the bust of Ataturk in this city upon influence of the Armenian lobby in this city.
After learning about this development, Erdogan said, "it is unacceptable. We do not go to Argentina" and two-day visit to Argentina was cancelled immediately.
When the visit was cancelled, Argentina's President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner telephoned Erdogan and said Turkey was right to react, however she added that she could not overrule autonomous Buenos Aires administration due to constitution of Argentina. "Please come to our country, we are waiting for you," she said.

ISTANBUL RACE RECORDED IN HISTORY
Formula 1 race in Istanbul Park was recorded in history with an accident. Driver of McLaren Hamilton achieved the success when Red Bull drivers hit each other as they were approaching the finish.

APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who skipped off his visit to Argentina as autonomous Buenos Aires city cancelled inauguration of the bust of Ataturk, also did not accept the apology of Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner. Argentine press defined the crisis as a "scandal". Erdogan, who proceeded to Chile, will hold meetings for two days.

DOUBLE EXCITEMENT IN ISTANBUL
Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, drivers of McLaren Mercedes, won the first two ranks in Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul. Red Bull drivers Webber and Vettel, who were leading the race, collided in the 40th tour. Webber, leader of general classification, completed the race on the third row.
