Turkish dailies report Tuesday the details of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's latest remarks over presidency, arrest of a police officer suspected of murdering a demonstrator during anti-government Gezi protests and a 19 year-boy, who died of Bonsai, which has been classified as the most dangerous drug in Turkey recently.

VATAN runs with the headline, "The office of the presidency is not an office of 'showcase,'" referring to Erdogan's remarks. The daily quoted Erdogan as saying, "The office of the presidency is the peak point in politics," while he was talking about qualifications of a president in Ankara.

Last week, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, 60, declared his candidacy, although his nomination by the ruling Justice and Development Party, known as the AK Party, was seen as a near certainty.

Similarly, HURRIYET goes with "Presidency peak point in politics," reporting Erdogan's recent remarks. The daily also said Erdogan will announce his vision of presidency Friday, quoting the prime minister as saying, "Turkey will see what a president elected by people will do -- with this announcement."

STAR covers the prime minister's remarks under a similarly themed title. The daily also cited Erdogan as saying on President Abdullah Gul in the same statement: "We've fought a serious struggle together with him. You know how Turkey has developed during his term."

Turkish citizens go to the polls Aug. 10 to vote for the 12th president of Turkey. It will be the first time voters have directly elected a president; the president was previously elected by assembly lawmakers.

Papers also dedicated their front pages to news about police officer Ahmet Sahbaz, who was accused of shooting and killing protester Ethem Sarisuluk in Ankara on the night of June 1, 2013, during the anti-government Gezi Park protests.

MILLIYET says on its front page that the arrest of the police officer came one year later. The daily reported that public prosecutor demanded that the police officer receive a prison sentence ranging from 26 years and eight months to 33 years and four months.

VATAN uses title "Delighted after 401 days," referring to mother of Ethem Sarisuluk. The daily quoted the mother as saying: "My son is not dead now. He is right with us. The arrest of the murderer made me overjoyed."

HABERTURK reported that defense attorneys admitted that the person in a video, in which Sahbaz allegedly says "I drew my gun and fired three bullets" was their client.

Classified as the most dangerous drug in Turkey recently, bonsai is another news item on which the papers focus.

"Bonsai kills him" is VATAN's title. The paper said that the recent killing from bonsai drug took place in Ankara, leaving 19 year-old Mehmet Demirci dead. MILLIYET said: "He becomes victim on his birthday," while BUGUN quotes Demirci's mother as saying, "Why is not the selling of bonsai stopped?"

Bonsai has a chemical called AM-2201, which can be particularly destructive to the brain.
