Turkish dailies mostly covered in their Tuesday issues the funeral ceremonies for five of Turkish soldiers, the Kurdish control over the northern Syria and the denial over miscalculated LYS exam results. The Anadolu Agency does not verify these stories and does not vouch for their accuracy.
Most of the Turkish dailies published the funeral ceremonies of five Turkish soldiers who lost their lives late on Sunday when a military helicopter crashed during landing because of engine failure. Some of the funerals were held at the hometowns' of those soldiers. Turkish dailies covered that investigation into the accident had begun.
Turkish dailies also covered the miscalculated results of LYS examination and Turkey's Student Selection and Placement Centre's (OSYM) rejection of the claims. Daily VATAN headlined "Passing grade becomes 165" and said that OSYM denied the claims over the miscalculation and because of the lower success of this year's candidates, YOK decided to discuss lowering the passing grade of Undergraduate Placement Examination (LYS).
Lastly, Turkish dailies focused on their Tuesday edition the Kurdish control over north of Syria. Daily RADIKAL headlined "Unexpected Progress" and quoted Ankara as saying, "Ankara will not condone a self-governing Kurdish region under the control of PKK in Syria. Turkey had warned the messy Syrian opposition." Syrian Kurdish groups have gained control of several Syrian towns over the past few days.
