According to the Turkish Armed Forces, the Turkey-backed Free Syrian Army also took “most of the control” in three more villages near the ISIL-held al-Bab town.
The military added that Syrian opposition forces also hit ISIL and PKK/PYD targets, including shelters, command-and-control centers and vehicles on Monday.
Operation Euphrates Shield began in late August to rid Syria's northern border area of extremists. Tuesday marks the 84th day of the operation.
Nearly 1,700 square kilometers (656 square miles) of land in northern Syria have been cleared of ISIL extremists as part of Turkey’s Operation Euphrates Shield so far.
In total, 36 mines and 1,548 improvised explosives have been defused since the start of the operation on Aug. 24.
