Three Yemeni soldiers were killed on Saturday in fresh clashes between the army and Shiite Houthi militants in the northern province of Amran, a security source said.
"Several Houthis were also killed and injured in the clashes," the source told Anadolu Agency.
The violence came hours after the two sides reached a ceasefire in the province.
Amran has been the site of clashes between a Yemeni army unit and militants from the Houthi movement on Friday. Houthis also clashed with local tribes at the entrance to the province.
Yemen has been dogged by turmoil since pro-democracy protests in 2011 forced autocratic president Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down after 33 years in power.
In the three years since, authorities have struggled to restore law and order.Last Mod: 24 Mayıs 2014, 13:34
