The latest fatalities bring to 37 the number of militants killed since June 30, the source told the state-run Middle East News Agency (MENA).
The tally could not be independently verified.
The source described as “positive” the outcome of the military operation against militants in Sinai.
Unknown militants have mounted nearly 27 attacks against Egyptian police and army forces in Sinai since the ouster of President Mohammad Morsi by the army on July 3.
At least 12 civilians and security personnel have been killed in such attacks between July 5-12.
