At least 447 Palestinians from the Gaza Strip are treated abroad from injuries they sustained during a recent Israeli military operation in the embattled Palestinian enclave, an official with the Palestinian Health Ministry said Sunday.
Around half of the cases treated abroad are being hospitalized in Egypt, while the rest are receiving treatment in hospitals in the West Bank, Israel, Jordan and Turkey, Yehia Khedr was quoted by the semi-official Al-Ray news agency as saying.
More than 200 other wounded Palestinians are currently preparing to travel abroad for treatment, he added.
Gaza-based Palestinian groups and the Israelis are due to resume indirect talks on a long-term ceasefire in Gaza in the Egyptian capital Cairo on Sunday.
The talks follow more than a month of Israeli attacks on the Palestinian territory, attacks that had left nearly 1980 Palestinians dead and around 10,000 others injured.
About 64 Israeli troops were also killed in Gaza combat, while three civilians were killed by rockets fired from the Gaza Strip, according to Israeli data.
