At least eight Houthis were killed Wednesday in an ambush by armed tribesmen in Yemen's southern Lahij province, security sources have said.

According to the sources, armed tribesmen in the Karsh region of Lahij ambushed two vehicles carrying Houthi militants, who they attacked with machine guns, killing eight.

Several other Houthis were injured, sources told on condition of anonymity.
