Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Wednesday discussed with Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan the “joint Arab action" and the crises of Syria, Yemen and Libya.

After his arrival in Abu Dhabi earlier on Wednesday for a two-day official visit, al-Sisi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces held a talk session to tackle the issues of enhancing bilateral relations, and ongoing coordination on various regional and international issues of common interest, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian presidency.

“Al-Sisi and Bin Zayed stressed the importance of ongoing coordination on ways to deal with the challenges facing the Arab nation, with an aim to promote joint Arab action and protect Arab national security," the statement read.

“They reviewed the latest regional developments in light of the crises in Syria, Yemen and Libya, and the challenges facing the Arab nation, mostly the threat of terrorism and some external interferences in the security and stability of the Arab countries,” the statement added.

Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, for his part, hailed "the role played by Egypt in supporting efforts to achieve stability in the region, finding solutions to its current crises, as well as its efforts in the fight against terrorism targeting the security and stability of Egypt and the whole region".

Al-Sisi's visit came about a week after his visit to Saudi Arabia.

The Egyptian president agreed with Saudi King Salman to "stand united to end the crises that some countries in the region are going through," according to a statement issued earlier by the Egyptian presidency.

The UAE is one of the largest Gulf countries that support the current Egyptian regime since 2013 coup, with Bin Zayed pledging $4 billion in support for Egypt following his visit to the country in April 2016.
