Egyptian security forces on Thursday dispersed a rally in support of ousted president Mohamed Morsi in the coastal city of Alexandria and arrested ten protesters.
The demonstration, held in the city's eastern Stanley district, was dispersed after protesters blocked roads, while ten Muslim Brotherhood supporters were arrested, the Alexandria Security Directorate said in a statement.
According to the statement, protesters damaged some shops in the area.
Sources in the National Alliance for the Defense of Legitimacy, Morsi's main support bloc, said that nine girls had been arrested by security forces for participating in Thursday's rally.
The demonstrators have continued to stage daily rallies to protest the democratically-elected leader's July 3 ouster by Egypt's military establishment.Last Mod: 31 Ekim 2013, 13:22
