Syrian regime warplanes killed 27 civilians, including 10 children, on Wednesday night after launching airstrikes on the towns of Saraqub and Maaret al-Numan in northern Syria's Idlib province.
"Warplanes targeted a market area using missiles, killing 25 people, including eight children," Layth Faris, a member of the Syrian Civil Defense in Saraqib town, told Anadolu Agency.
Faris said rescue teams are still looking for people under the rubble. He added that many shops in the area were destroyed in the attack.
Meanwhile, Omar Ilwan, a media activist from Maaret al-Numan, told Anadolu Agency that a military aircraft targeted the western neighborhood of the town with a missile.
Two children from the same family were killed and their mother and another child were wounded.
