At least nine people were killed and 30 others were injured during an attack on an aid distribution center in the besieged Yarmouk refugee camp on Sunday in the capital city of Syria, Damascus, an activist said.
Local activist Rami Al-Sayed told the Anadolu Agency that the regime forces organized the attack and the dead included women and children. He also stated that the lot of the injured are in a critical condition and they are worried about the death toll rising.
"Conditions in the Yarmouk camp are getting worse day by day. The local community wants the siege lifted, instead of aid." he added.
Al-Sayed also emphasized that the members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, under the leadership of Ahmed Jibril, put psychological pressure on the people in the aid distribution centers.
He also added that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees have delivered almost 1,000 relief supply kits so far to the region.
