Four people, including two soldiers, were injured Saturday when a bomb went off near an army water tanker in Yemen's southern Hadhramaut province, a medical source said.

"Two soldiers were transferred to the hospital after sustaining minor wounds from an explosion," the source with Seyoun Hospital, who requested anonymity, told The Anadolu Agecny.

The source said that two other people were injured in the blast.

There has been no claim of responsibility and Yemeni authorities have yet to comment on the attack.

In recent months, Hadhramaut has been the scene of repeated attacks that the government typically blames on the Al-Qaeda-linked Ansar al-Sharia militant group.

The Yemeni government says Al-Qaeda remains active in several parts of the country's south, from which it stages sporadic attacks on army and police personnel.

Yemen has been dogged by turmoil since pro-democracy protests forced president Ali Abdullah Saleh to step down in 2012 after 33 years in office.
