British Foreign Secretary William Hague held meetings with Lebanese President Michel Slaiman, Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri and Prime Minister Najib Mikati.
During his meetings with Lebanese officials, he mainly discussed the topics of Syrian conflict and bilateral relations between Britain and Lebanon.
Hague who is currently in Beirut to hold official talks addressed reporters after his meeting with President Slaiman and said, the Lebanese army is in possession of keeping the stability in the region and said, "That is why we are increasing our training assistance package and we will provide training 2,000 troops next year."
Hague also came together with Lebanese PM Mikati. The meeting covered the peace efforts in Middle East.
Hague suggested that in the scope of ending the conflict in Syria via dialogues, EU and international community have to make efforts. Moreover, he congratulate Lebanon for their efforts to find solutions for the Syrian shelter seekers crisis.Last Mod: 22 Şubat 2013, 10:25
