An EgyptAir flight to the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi escaped tragedy late Wednesday after landing on the wrong tarmac, a source at Egypt's national carrier said Thursday.
The Airbus 320 plane landed on a tarmac that was undergoing maintenance at Benghazi Airport, which could have ended in a catastrophe, added the source.
No damage was reported and the plane flew back to Cairo after a few hours' delay.
