Regarding the military intervention in Egypt, European Parliament President Martin Schulz called on the Egyptian army to enable the presidential election as soon as possible.
Holding official talks in the Spanish capital of Madrid, the EP's Schulz commented on the latest developments in the Egyptian coup d'etat at the meeting held by the think tank ''Nueva Economia Forum.''
He stressed that the military intervention was an "inevitable ending", although "unacceptable."
Schulz urged that Egyptian army must enable the presidential election as soon as possible, guaranteeing the functionality of democracy.
EP's Schulz also touched on the treatment to the Bolivian President Evo Morales who was kept waiting for 12 hours in Vienna on his return from Russia upon the claim that he transported the NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden on his plane.
Shulz described the treatment to Morales as "unacceptable" and "ridiculous," saying "international rules were not applied for the Bolivian President."Last Mod: 05 Temmuz 2013, 14:41
