Four people allegedly responsible for procuring six Syrian women were detained along with the women as a result of an operation in the provinces of Mardin and Şanlıurfa on Friday.
A team from the Kızıltepe Police Department's Trafficking and Organized Crime Unit received information about human trafficking in the Ceylanpınar district on the Turkish-Syrian border in Turkey's Şanlıurfa province. Investigators took one man into custody in connection with the case.
After questioning the suspect, police learned about the procurement of Syrian women in some homes in the Kızıltepe district in the province of Mardin as well.
Police launched an investigation and detained three other people, one of which is reported to be a woman.
