The Free Syrian Army (FSA) on Thursday announced that they were pleased to hear that France was ready to provide arms to the Syrian opposition.

Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), a spokesperson for the FSA, Abdulhamid Zekeriya underlined that they were highly pleased to learn that France, in cooperation with Britain, was ready to provide arms to the Syrian opposition.

"We are hoping that France's decision will not just remain in words," Zekeriya said.

Touching on the Syrian army's mobilization, Zekeriya called on all young Syrians to stay away from check points to avoid service in the Syrian army.

"The Assad regime took a decision for mobilization after half a million Syrians did not join their ranks and 100,000 Syrians defected from the Syrian army," Zekeriya also said.
