A military funeral ceremony was held on Tuesday for 9 soldiers killed in an exchange of fire with armed groups in capital Tunis.

Tunisian President Mohammed Munsif Al-Marzouqi and Defense Minister Rashid as Sabbagh attended the funeral along with hundreds of Tunisians opening banners with the soldiers' names written on them.

Since March, security and army forces have been searching for armed groups hiding in the mountains.

9 soldiers were killed in an exchange of fire with armed groups on Chaambi Mountain in the Tunisia-Algeria border Monday evening.
