A Palestinian youth on Sunday died of injuries sustained during Israel's seven-week military onslaught on the Gaza Strip, according to a Palestinian Health Ministry spokesman.
"The 22-year-old man from the northern Jabalya town succumbed to his wounds at a Jordanian hospital on Sunday," Ashraf al-Qodra told Anadolu Agency.
The latest fatality brings the number of Palestinians killed during 51 days of fierce Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip – which finally ended late last month – to 2,157.
More than 570 Palestinian children were killed during Israel's onslaught, according to al-Qodra.
Over the same period, at least 72 Israelis – 67 soldiers and five civilians – were killed, according to Israeli figures.
The offensive, launched with the stated aim of halting rocket fire from Gaza, ended with the announcement on August 26 of an open-ended cease-fire between Israel and Palestinian resistance factions.Last Mod: 14 Eylül 2014, 13:50
