Three members of the Shiite militant Lebanese movement Hezbollah were killed in a car bombing that rocked the eastern part of Lebanon late on Saturday, a Lebanese security official said.
Earlier in the day, a security source told Anadolu Agency that a number of people were killed, while others injured when a booby-trapped car driven by a suicide bomber went off near a checkpoint manned by fighters from Hezbollah.
The source could not, however, determine the number of dead and injured victims in the blast.
The car went off in eastern Lebanon's Beqaa region, targeting a Hezbollah checkpoint, the source, who asked not to be named, told AA.
Hezbollah has been fighting alongside the Syrian regime and against the opposition in the Arab country since 2013.
