Four Syrian Turkmen commanders have been killed after a suicide bombing was carried out in northern Aleppo’s Cobanbey district by Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL) forces.
According to local sources, the ISIL had originally offered to negotiate a safe retreat from the Cobanbey district, after its predominantly Turkmen population began a counterattack against the Al-Qaeda linked group.
Hamid Ahmed Fayad, a representative of the Syrian Turkmen Muhammad Fatih Brigade, said that four ISIL delegates met with Turkmen representatives in the former’s base, demanding certain guarantees before they withdrew their men from the area.
During the meeting, one ISIL representative exploded a device he was carrying, killing four Syrian Turkmen commanders. Commanders Abdulmunim Kalendir Ebu Islam and Imad Diman were among the dead.Last Mod: 03 Şubat 2014, 12:20
