Islamist detainees in Roumieh Prison held several members of the Internal Security Forces hostage after a small protest turned into a riot amid demands for general amnesty, the National News Agency and TV stations reported.
NNA said the prisoners began calling for amnesty when the security personnel prevented a female visitor from meeting a detainee due to not having a visit permit, reported Naharnet.
While the state-run agency did not reveal whether officers were detained, MTV and LBCI stations said around 13 ISF members were held in the prison's bloc B.
But they were released shortly after, they said.
