The Israeli army arrested two Palestinians on Saturday, accusing them of throwing a Molotov cocktail on an Israeli car in the northern part of the occupied West Bank.

The attack, which took place on Thursday, left an 11-year-old Israeli girl and her father with burns.

Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee said on Twitter that Israel's army and police managed to arrest the two Palestinians who carried out the attack.

He described the condition of the girl as "critical."

On Friday, the Israeli army arrested 12 Palestinians in the town of Azzoun, eastern the northern West Bank city of Qalqilya, against the background of the attack.

The Israel Security Agency said that two of the arrested Palestinians had confessed that they had thrown a Molotov cocktail on an Israeli car, setting it on fire.

Meanwhile, Israeli army forces have detained three other Palestinians in raids in the occupied West Bank.

The army said in a statement that a Palestinian youth had been detained after sneaking into a Jewish-only settlement south of the West Bank.

Israeli forces routinely conduct arrest campaigns against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank on claims they are "wanted" by Israeli authorities.

Over 7,000 Palestinians are currently languishing in prisons located throughout Israel, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Prisoners' Affairs.

Palestinian towns in East Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank have been the scene of clashes between Palestinians and the Israeli army for several months now.

The clashes are fanned by repeated Israeli violations against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the detention of Palestinian civilians.
