Israeli forces detained 16 Hamas members, including two women, in raids in the West Bank city of Hebron on Saturday, Hamas sources said.

According to the sources, the Hamas members were detained after three Israeli teens went missing in Hebron on Friday.

The sources expected that Israel will escalate its detention campaign against Hamas members, amid Israeli accusations that the Palestinian group was behind the absence of the three teens.

"Hamas has not claimed responsibility for the absence of the teenagers, but it 'blesses the operation', one of the sources told Anadolu Agency.

Israel has held the Palestinian Authority responsible for the safety of the three teenagers.

Israeli planes on Saturday struck a training site of Ezzeddin Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, in the Gaza Strip.

No casualties were reported.

According to eyewitnesses, Israeli planes fired three missiles into the site in the eastern city of Khan Yunis.

The Israeli army, meanwhile, said that the attack was in retaliation for firing a rocket on southern Israel from the Palestinian territory earlier on Saturday.
