Israeli army forces on Sunday detained two Hamas members in occupied East Jerusalem.

The army said in a statement that two Hamas members had been arrested on Jerusalem outskirts.

Israel labels Hamas, which rules the blockaded Gaza Strip, as a "terrorist" group.

Nearly 7,000 Palestinians are currently held in Israeli prisons, including more than 250 minors, according to the Palestinian Prisoners' Society NGO.
