Israeli forces on Tuesday stormed three Palestinian homes in eastern Jerusalem and arrested one Palestinian youth.

A source from the Al-Abassi family said that family member Emad had been arrested after Israeli Special Forces stormed and ransacked his home in the Silwan neighborhood at dawn.

"They blew up his front door and broke into his bedroom where he was sleeping, forcing his wife and children out before hooding him and taking him away," the source, who asked not to be named, told the Anadolu Agency.

Earlier the same day, a Palestinian rights group said Israeli settlers had attacked a church cemetery in Silwan.

Jewish settlers "smashed one headstone, desecrated another and sprayed 'price tag' graffiti on the walls of the cemetery," the Wadi al-Helwa Center said in a statement.

"Price tag" refers to a strategy adopted by extremist Jewish settlers of attacking Palestinians and their property in retaliation for perceived threats to Israeli settlement expansion.

Several "price tag" attacks have been carried out recently by Israeli settlers in eastern Jerusalem and elsewhere in the West Bank, with Palestinian vehicles and farms torched -- often while Israeli army personnel looked on, according to Palestinian officials.

Tensions have been high in the holy city as extremist Jewish settlers -- often accompanied by Israeli security forces -- have entered the Aqsa Mosque complex, Islam's third holiest site, on an almost daily basis.

The frequent violations distress Palestinian Muslims and occasionally lead to violent confrontations.

Jews refer to Al-Aqsa as the "Temple Mount," claiming the area was the site of two prominent Jewish temples in ancient times.
