Israeli forces launched a limited incursion into the south of the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, as Jewish settlers set two Palestinian vehicles on fire in the West Bank.
"Six Israeli bulldozers pushed 200 meters into Khan Younis city in the south of the Gaza Strip," one eyewitness told Anadolu Agency.
Eyewitnesses said Israeli troops had combed and searched the area while armed vehicles opened fire towards Palestinian lands.
No injuries were reported.
Meanwhile, residents said Palestinian gunmen fired a mortar shell toward Kissufim crossing east of Khan Younis.
No Palestinian group claimed responsibility for the mortar firing.
No statement was issued by the Israeli army about the attack.
In recent days, Israel staged almost daily incursions into the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, with Israeli troops often firing haphazardly at Palestinian farmers and homes near the border.
In another development, Jewish settlers set two Palestinian vehicles ablaze and sprayed-painted a house in Far’ata village in the West Bank town of Nablus.
Extremist Jewish settlers routinely attack Palestinians and their property in the West Bank.Last Mod: 19 Kasım 2013, 16:26
