Israeli troops killed on Saturday a Palestinian teenager and seriosly wounded another who protested Israel in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian hospital officials said.
The youths had been taking part in a demonstration near the West Bank city of Nablus. Palestinian hospital officials and witnesses said the youth was killed by Israeli gunfire.
Maan News Agency quoted medics as saying that Muhammad Qadus, 16, was struck in the heart by a bullet fired by Israeli forces in Iraq Burin.
Another 16-year-old Palestinian boy, identified as Useid Abed An-Nasser Qadus, was seriously injured. Medics said he sustained a bullet to the stomach and was transferred to a hospital for emergency surgery.
An Israeli military spokesman said he was aware that two Palestinians had been injured, one of whom was transported by a Red Crescent ambulance elsewhere. The other injured person left by himself, he said.
