Jordanian Prime Minister Abdalla Ensour arrived in Cairo on Saturday, on his first visit to Egypt since the military overthrow of elected president Mohamed Morsi three months ago.
Ensour was welcomed at Cairo airport by Egyptian Prime Minister Hazem al-Beblawi, sources said.
The Jordanian premier will hold talks with Egyptian officials on bilateral relations between the two countries.
Ensour is expected to attend Egyptian celebrations of the 40th anniversary of a military victory over Israel, during which Egypt regained control of the Sinai Peninsula.
Jordan was among the first Arab countries to welcome the army's July 3 ouster of democratically-elected Morsi.
