King Abdullah urges China to take active role in Syrian crisis

King of Jordan Abdullah met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing during his visit to attend Chinese-Arab EXPO at Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in northern China.

In the meeting held at Beijing Grand Public Hall, Chinese President Xi stated that he wants to deepen the relations between China and Jordan and to cooperate in global and regional issues.

Xi explained that they will enlarge the scale of bilateral trade and investment in order to upgrade Chinese cooperation with Middle Eastern countries. 

It was recorded that King Abdullah called for China to take active role in a solution of Syrian crisis and peace process in the Middle East. He wanted Beijing to use her role in UN Security Council.

Official Chinese news agency Xinhua wrote that King Abdullah appreciated the active efforts and contribution of China in transformation in the Middle East and political solution of Syrian crisis. The agency also reported that King Abdullah said that Jordan is ready to cooperate with China in development, stability and peace process in the Middle East.

Stating that Jordan is a strategic ally of China, King Abdullah said that he is ready to develop the bilateral relations and investments in economy, trade, energy, telecommunication, railway infrastructure and health.
